BEAMY's Innovative Film Memorabilia: A Tribute to "Fleet of Time"

Designing a Unique, Personalized Memorabilia for a Box Office Hit

The project, which started in September 2014 and was completed in November 2014 in Shanghai, China, was a challenging yet fulfilling endeavor for the design team. The objective was to create something more than just a usual film souvenir set. It had to appeal to fans of both the film and the novel, which required the team to read the entire novel thrice, as well as the movie script, to understand the characters and resonate with them.

BEAMY's design stands out for its unique properties. The team created a box set of four 'books,' each containing useful items like a poster, wrapping paper, bookmarks, stickers, sticky notes, postcards, a notebook, and a 2015 calendar. The colors distinguish the different 'life phases' of the characters as in the film. This innovative approach to memorabilia design sets BEAMY apart in the design industry.

The project utilized Conqueror paper, Pantone metallic colors, and special effects like diecut and spotuv. The memorabilia is a limited edition, with only 2014 serialized copies made using black hot stamping. The design team went through rounds of paper stock selection and mockups before actual production, demonstrating their commitment to quality and attention to detail.

The design measures 180 mm x 50 mm x 240 mm and was released in December 2014. It has since garnered recognition for its creativity and innovation, winning the Silver A' Print and Published Media Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
